If the neocons were addicted, we would say that they are "in denial."
The arrogant left-overs from the cold war who stated that unilateralism
was our wave of the future have crawled back under their rocks. All
at once , the "old European" states have become significant. The right-
wing chest pounders and the bible thumpers are quietly getting out
of international politics and returning to cross burning and bombing
abortion clinics. Those of us who promoted diplomacy and necessity
for an international front against Terrorism must, as always, pick
up the pieces of a horribly failed administration. Bush will demand
an additional $70 to $80 Bn to clean up the damage we've done in
Iraq in his speech, tonight. As we crawl on our hands and knees before
the UN, play kissy-kissy with France and Germany, beg and profusely
write checks to India, Pakistan and Indonesia, the smirking, mindless buffoon
will tell us tonight, "I got a handle on it, folks... Bring 'em on!"
Bush and his band of corporate theives has raped this nation of its
treasure, is exchanging environmental controls for political contributions,
sacrifices the lives and limbs of our young people for greater market-share
and oil price stabilization, and will leave us a nation saturated with
debt for decades. As you watch this "world leader" tonight, you will
be informed that all is going according to the game plan. Then, why
the speech? Why the UN love-ins? Why is Dover, AFB putting in all of
that overtime? Why is Bethesda Naval Hospital overbooked? Why is Shrub
attending union picnics and running around the rust belt telling laid-
off industrial workers how much the unbelievable tax cuts to the rich
helped them get employed... ad nauseam.
