Hmmmm. A very profound question. Not sure any of us have an answer! It's a tough life finding yourself in a Grade B movie, and a bad one at that.

I can only offer you these few suggestions:

• see the absurdity in it. If you can't see it, look for it
• don't dwell on it. You'll make yourself nuts and sick
• don't poke about in the toilet. If it looks odd, and it's going down into the sewer, be satisfied! Leave the measuring to when you need curtains or something.
