Castor Oil is NOT a smooth muscle stimulant IMHO by #53495 ..... Castor Oil Remedies Forum

In normal scientific literature, they say the reason castor oil has a laxative effect is not the smooth muscle stimulation(which I believe could very possibly be completely made up) as is quoted widely on this forum, but because it acts as a coat on the bowel movement, preventing water and other liquids from absorbing through the small intenstine. Essentially, its like a oral enema. (If you wish to dispute me, do a search on google, and you can find it on any normal page discussing castor oil) So if it doesn't have a "stimulative" effect internally, I find it hard to believe it has one externally either. Perhaps heat alone(or oil acting as a heat multiplier) or even just belief has helped the few have seen results, and is the reason why I see way more "no change in belly" posts. Heat did not help me, nor did castor oil packs. But my problem was ovarian cysts, and I had to flush my intestines internally of all the rotting cheese/gluten foods and then flush my liver to get rid of my belly bloat. In all honestly, I don't think castor oil packs are a real alternative therapy. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone over Liver Flushing or Water Fasting or intenstinal cleansing.

Just my two cents for those finding despair at it not working.
