Sounds like you've got some really thin lines between your personal and business life - in the future you might want to take steps to make these more separate no matter who your partner happens to be. It also sounds like she doesn't have enough going on in her own life - now she'll be able to focus on that instead of you.

I agree with you about the 'festival of feelings' - you shouldn't have to have a Hallmark moment, especially when it comes to your professional life.
