Scabies is contagious. You both need to be treated for it. Yes, you will have to do the treatment yourself again, at the same time your room mate does it. You may BOTH have to do the treatment for scabies twice. It can take a couple of weeks after you get scabies for it to start to bother you. This could be why your room mate did not think they have scabies. It is not hard to get rid of but you must do the treatment.
