I respond. I also have a child with CP. He does not have seizures, but, you sure did describe good reasons for having them.

I respond: Have you discussed this with your pediatric neurologist? If not, you should. Perhaps you should consider seeking help at a teaching hospital with a seizure clinic.

Does anyone know if her seizure theory about Ascaris also applies to people who have a brain injury? My son is bright and verbal, and the doctors say with a lot of therapy he will functionally walk one day. His neurologist says there is nothing that triggers seizures; they just "happen." I don't believe this.


I respond: This is partially correct. There are some things, like flashing lights, which may trigger seizures, however, that is RARE. Seizures most often just happen.

I respond: You child is having seizures due to several brain injuries as you described. You wil have to accept this, as it is the fact.


Now, let me suggest something to you, from our personal experience.

My son's CP was caused by the negligence of a doctor. We were extremely angry, and wanted our revenge in the form of a malpractice suit. We began proceedings, and the anger just kept building. It was affecting our son.

We decided to abandon the suit, and, get on with parenting to the best of our ability. We used fact based medicine, and have made substantial progress. He is 16, plays wheelchair basketball, just did his first 10K road race in a chair, and is doing fine in a special school.

It is a decision we have never regretted.
