An annual checkup normally would not detect cancer. A blood test doesn't reveal cancer like you would think it would. Now if the Dr. feels a lump in your body, he would probably want to test further for cancer.

A checkup at your Dr's office would involve checking your blood sugar, blood pressure, urine sample---normal stuff like that.
