Hmm... The Liver Flush may be out there, as you point out, Tracey, but maybe the test comes when it gets more popular than it is now. The powers that be (the pharmaceutical industry, to name one) might let threats to their profit margins go uncontested as long as they remain very small. But once Liver Flushing gets popular enough it might get attacked by full-scale disinformation campaigns... it is dangerous, it’s a hoax, “Just Say No", etc. I can picture a dark, troubling "60 Minutes" story about this dangerous new trend in self-medicating.

In the USA, public institutions like the FDA, (ostensibly the unbiased authorities), are run by big business interests more than ever before, so they are not likely to give Liver Flushing a fair judgment or let it get very popular, if drug companies don’t want them to. Maybe in more progressive countries like Canada it will not face as much resistance. It will be interesting to see what happens.
