I try to do a full hour treatment on myself whenever I can, but if I don't have time I just do 15 minutes or whatever. If there's something in particular I'm trying to heal I'll do the hour every day . A good time is before getting up in the morning or before going to sleep at night. I also send distant Reiki about once a week sometimes more, and I treat myself and do a grounding visualisation before I start to send it. I use it to clear the energies in my house too, or send it ahead of myself if I'm going somewhere and I feel I need to.
It was recommended that we try to do as close to an full hour each day as possible for the 21 days after each of our attunements, as the healing and clearing can be very draining and emotional. Wierd thing happened today - I was sending Reiki to a friend who's in a very bad place at the moment, and I was focussing my intention very strongly because of the nature of his issue... and all the electrics in my house shorted out! I've had lights go on and off and my computer freeze when I was angry but never shorted anything out before....
