I can tell you this much, when my liver feels clogged my eyes always look worse/darker. There definately is a connection between the liver and the eyes. If you're liver is healthy your eyes will reflect it. I find when I liver/colon flush AND eat better ie fresh fruit and veggies my eyes always look better. I haven't been able to live up to that standard perfectly so my eyes still have the dark circles but they are better than they were before I did the flushes and made some changes to my diet. Colon cleansing can help too but only if you continue to keep the colon clean with good food, if you go back to junk food/high carbs refined sugar, you undo the good you did with the colon cleanse.
