I too experience very dry eyes in the morning. I don't know what causes this. The only thing I have found to be helpful is to put drops in my eyes before bed or in the middle of the night (if I happen to wake up). The best eye drops I have found are called Viva-drops. I order them off the internet. I've been to several opthamalagists and they don't see any cause for eye dryness. According to Chinese medicine the liver has to do with eye health so maybe it's a toxic liver? Let me know what you find out.
