As always, I guess you can't always trust books, internet posts, or whatever. I am sorry if my post confused anyone.

I got this information from books and it seems to be contradictive.

I know I myself have lowered my cholesterol through liver flushes, but not lowered enough. My friend who is a vegetarian go her cholesterol to 135 total by changing to vegetarianism.
