Although you will lose "some" weight on the Master-Cleanse I'll say it again The Master-Cleanse is NOT a "weight loss diet" If your whole mind set is to loose weight and keep it off may I suggest that changing your diet and exercise is the best way. If you don't change the way you eat after the Master-Cleanse you will gain the weight back and then some.
I was trying to present an educated point of view from experience and reading and having cruised posted on these forum for the last year and perhaps help or maybe even inspire those that are trying to do the cleanse for what it was designed for and keep it from falling into the "latest weightloss fad" mindset of wich the MC is definetly not.
>I know that I'll have to change my eating patterns afterwards a little. The thing is that all other diets have failed me. I ate carrrots, white meat with no fat, low or non-fat foods on a daily basis for 4 years and my weight would yo-yo a little. In the last 6 months my wieght sneaked up 20 lbs.
Well that perhaps should clue you that either you were eating the wrong things for your system or something else is up with your system that is not procesing those foods. Many times when and how often you eat playa role also, how you combine your foods and on and on. If you add to that getting older and that your system could be clogged up from all the crap you eaten in the last umpteen years and that you might not be as physically active as you once were. There are just so many factors and going on a little fast to "loose weight"is not going to change things at all. As a matter of fact if you don't look at the fast as a part of a much bigger picture requiering maintnance after then I would advice anyone that thinks that way to go ahead and join Jenny Craig or one of the myriad of "magic system" out there.
>I figured that the diet would alter my matabolism a little, but I thought that the cayanne pepper and surup were supposed to trick you body into thinking that you were eating, and were supposed to keep your metabolism up, to a certian extent.
Please educate me and site your source for this info.
>So what should I do, quit because your saying I'll gain weight again?
Aw comoan man this kind of rhetoric is childrens playgound banter. My post was/is not meant as an adversarial thing at all. Look whether you realize it or not I >>am<< giving you support I'm just not by whining along like most folks in this forum. I am giving you the views from someone that has experienced it from withing and has come out as a new being on the other side and not from some second hand verbiage I picked up somewhere.
>I thought that I'd try the b&P shakes, just for the heck of it, seeing that I was doing everything else, to be healtier for now,
I'm of the KISS(keep it simple stupid) school of thought. My thoughts are ,let The MC work it's magic unimpeded and then use your BP shakes to keep the ball rolling as part of your "after" maintenance program.
> but I'm not looking to change my life right now and become a health nut.
See, this is the very mindset that I detected from your original post and you have confirmed it with your "health nut" label. I really find that very funny.......but nto unexpected...... I don't consider taking personal responsability for my health and wellbeing as being a "health nut" but thanks for the compliment anyway......;+D
