Dear Sanjay,
Well, interesting. My own thoughts are that yoga teaching is not really a profession. I guess I feel it should not be viewed this way. Teaching is a great honour, and a blessing, and becomes a part of your sadhana, however when you start expecting things of it (monetarily, career, respect, accomplishment etc.) it can become very difficult to maintain the balance that is so necessary to be a "good" teacher. A good teacher is little more than an effective and clear conduit for the teachings that they themselves have received, reinforced by the insight they have truly gained from their own practice.
If you have little respect for what you do as a career then I believe that should change, however I believe also that there is a place for all things. You cannot just switch to teaching yoga and expect the same types of fulfillments. In other words, maybe don't quit your day job...or not just yet!
I would however really recommend a good residential yoga teachers training course. Such a course will get your own practice on track, give you some time and space to think about the broader picture of your life, and will also give your ego a bit of a workout (that is part of the beautiful design of the program). It gave me an opportunity to re-define what I thought about myself and what I might be capable of. I am hugely grateful for the experience. If the program is not residential, to my mind this process does not take place because you are still operating from within the framework of your usual day to day life.
You can do such a program in 4 weeks at an ashram in India (I see they're offering one in Brazil too). Depending on where you might be you can check out the dates for Sivananda teachers training programs here:

There are other programs which I think I mentioned in the links I provided earlier.
That is my best and heartiest recommendation. The course is wonderful, life altering, maddening and perfect. Ha!
Blessings,
Janaki
