In my opinion, the threat to our national sovereinty and our health freedom rights are issues that can unite what has become an increasingly divided nation. I also believe these two issues are the most important issues that are facing American citiziens today. I think it is the duty of the more informed among us to try to educate our friends and family and urge them to write their representatives in Congress (something quite easily done by e-mail these days) and/or provide assistance to our elderly friends and family by helping them to write and send their letters to their represenatives. We also need to be prepared to testify. The medical profession, nutritionists, researchers (there have been many studies that support the health effects of vitamins and minerals) etc.

Since this is a health forum, I will concentrate here on the threat to our being able to determine how to treat our bodies. What freedom can there be if our bodies are no longer under our control?

First of all, CAFTA (which is not yet a done deal) appears to only open up a forum for discussion regarding CODEX:

CAFTA, chapter 6, article 6.3.6(d) states: "The Committee [Committee on Sanitary
and Phytosanitary Matters] shall provide a forum for consulting on issues, positions,
and agendas for meetings of the WTO SPS Committee, the various Codex
committees (including the Codex Alimentarius Commission), the International Plant
Protection Convention, the International Office of Epizootics, and other international
and regional fora and food safety and human, animal, and plant health."

I strongly urge you to watch the documentary. It begins a bit intensely/emotionally but it calms down and becomes very factual with lots of good information given in a reasonably straightforward way (sans overt emotional bias), It ends quite dramatically with some wonderful quotes that are full of wisdom. Please -- do not be silent.
