you know, i believe it's all worth it in the end. i think this was a lesson, however tough, that needed to be learned by "staunch republicans" all over. it's as if "once a republican, always a republican". it could be beelzebub himself on the ballot, but people are so "loyal" they become blinded to what's really good for them in the end. just the other day, when the issue of gay marriage was hot on the political agenda following bush's "log in the eye" comment, a man whose son is gay went to say on national tv that he'd rather stay at home come election day 2004 than to NOT vote republican. i mean, how is he expecting any change if he's not willing to make a contribution, however small. it's the old "there's not enough choices" argument. fine! but when bush wins again, what's the man with the gay son, whom he supposedly loves and supports, going to say? "well, at least I didn't vote for him"? it's positively infantile. you got an issue close to your heart, and you know the difference between right and wrong without bringing the antequated argument of "it says in the bible.." argument, then, for god's sake (no pun intended) GO VOTE!crying a river will do squat!
