Bravo! I had done a search for depressed liberals on Google, and your article came up. //www.curezone.org/forums/m.asp?f=231&i=42 I am a depressed liberal, and it is always soothing to share the misery of living under the Bush regime. Your suggestions are right on the money. The time to be caring Democrats is AFTER the election, not during the race. As much as I hate mudslinging: if the other guy is slinging mud at you, and he goes home with a clean shirt because you are too restrained to throw it back, he will always look the winner, and probably end up being the winner.

I am amazed at the lack of coverage of Bush’s hypocrisy, especially the AWOL status. I would love to see that typed across the screen, with Bush in full top-gun in the background. (Cut to dead American boys overseas.) Bush probably spent that AWOL time, while not drunk, playing with yourself, spanking the monkey to Ayn Rand’s photo. (Ironically, she would have thought him a moron.) Noblesse oblige in the US seemed to disappear in direct proportion to the rise of SUVs. The "everyman" posing has played well among the ignorant, but the disgusting oversight of the income-paying working poor in the tax rebate reveals the truth.

And when will people who earn a few bucks stop thinking they are automatically Republicans? It takes a lot more than a mill in the bank to be a buddy of Bush. Somehow the association of Republican with protecting upper middle class wealth has to be addressed and torn apart. The chasm widens, and the Democrats would be wise to address the upper middle for a little myth de-bunking.

It has to be done soon, as the civil liberties destroyed by this administration leave the door wide open to one-party rule. It is easy for anyone with access to the intimate details of every citizen to squash all opponents. No one is invulnerable to take-down. In any case, the direct approach could backfire. But for sure the usual approach won’t work. Perhaps in that smoke-filled meeting, 2 men could be chosen: 1 to actually win, and the other as the venomous anti-Bush campaigner, who will back out at the last minute, after he has conducted the best bashing bonanza ever. And if it didn’t backfire, and was wildly successful, then the venom candidate could go forward instead. Would require tremendous ego waiving, planning, and cooperation. But possible.
