But being one who like to yack on occassion, let me add this:

What does your mother have to lose in trying a series of liver/gallbladder flushes? Perhaps she will lose some stones, the right to surgery, the necessity to part with her gallbladder, she may lose some respect for/and from her doctor, and she may lose her need for a medical deity(witch doctor) all together.
