I can't recall specifically (no pun intended) everything about the SCD, but I believe she allows some fruits and dairy products such as yogurt. I also believe she allows some grains and bread. (not sure of that) I think the PH diet is quite restrictive as people should consume 80% vegetables and a little meat. A few supplements help also. If you read in a bunch of forum pages, people that are on the SCD need to be on it for a very long time (i.e. 2 to 3 years). Even then, these people don't do well at all. I think there are too many taboo foods on that diet. I was considerably better in 5 days with the PH diet!!!
If you have been on the PH diet for a while and you want to cheat, go for it!!! People with our condition know when enough is enough.
Whoever reads this, don't let any medical doctor tell you that diet has nothing to do with it. It's just not true...it has everything to do with it.
