I am 18 years old and have just been diagnosed with UC throughout my entire colon. I have been dealing with a flare up for a month now and do not know how to get this into remission. I want to find an alternative route (as opposed to typical meds and drugs doctors perscribe). I am wondering if anyone has a diet they recommend (i.e. specific carb, etc) or specific supplements? I am also looking into acupunture and I a wondering if any other UC victims have had any experience with this? Any suggestions to calm this flare up and get it into remission quickly? I have lost 20 lbs so far and I am already a fairly thin person... I need to know what to eat. I am currently taking pentasa and also am curious how to get off of this... Any help would be greatly appreciated and any 'cure stories' would be great!
