Hi Miss Bloom,
You have more than one thing going on.
A year of prilosec was not going to cure anything, but it could give your body time to adjust and recover from
a viral attack like shingles.
Blaming it for a change in bowel habits might be a bit cruel. Don't forget that as we age our bowels become
less able to do what they did when we were younger. Did you ever notice that an "all you can eat" pizza
or spaghetti night at the local bistro was less appealing when you reached your thirties?
Helicobacter had many variations which are not all as severe as Pylori. Some only cause gastritis.
The test only detects the Pylori strain which makes up about 80% of the cases.
You can still have a less potent variation and test negative. Mastic Gum may be a good start, but
ozonated water would not penetrate the mucous layer in the stomach and the bacteria burrows into the
stomach layer below that to hide from the hydrochloric acid. (How could the water be stronger than the acid?)
It wouldn't even begin to change the PH of the stomach for a minute.
Ron
