It would seem more probable that what you experienced was parasites. Seems like I've felt "ill" or under the weather prior to passing parasites; and I do believe that they can be expelled sometimes without a person using anti-parasitics (a result of something we've eaten that they didn't like!). I don't have any proof, just my personal experience. Maybe someone can throw my theory apart????.....
