netav - like you, whenever i have dared "speak out against" this country, i have been told many times that i can "go home" if i don't like it. this is nothing new to me. I've always been a foreigner, wherever i've gone, and having grown up "never belonging" anywhere has taught me one thing - people are intolerant. kids, adults, foreigners. as for america, let's face it - no one, except for a handful of natives which have managed to survive, has any more right to be here than the next guy. we are ALL entitled to our opinions. one thing i've found that usually shuts people up is saying something like "oh, you mean like the russians sent THEIR outspokens to siberia when they disagreed?". gets them every time. because, let's face it, who wants to be compared to a communist? although these days, you could be called worse (imperialist, invader, war-monger, GW...). another thing that works pretty well is "well, at least i HAVE somewhere else to go, should i choose to...". there'll always be people with their heads up their asses. don't take it personally.
