I called before I gave a donation to make sure about them. They seem OK from all I can tell.

They started as a Christian relief group, however they don't promote religion at all. In fact, their staff in the middle east is all Muslim. And they claim over 90% of all moneys they get makes it to the children.

I was a bit worried about the religious angle. When I chose Children International for the kids I sponsor, I did it because I didn't want to fund a group that slaps kids on the head with bibles. I was wasn't paying to save their souls (they're eternal souls are in absolutely no danger because they don't have a bible on the end table, believe me...). I was paying for food, for clothes and for education.

I saw a bit about the International Bible Society and how it is now going to send a bunch of missionaries into Iraq to convert Muslims to Christianity (just like the chowder head Franklin Graham is about to do). 97% are Muslim in Iraq, so I guess they figure they may convert one or 2 people.

Think American Christian missionaries might be fighting an uphill battle for Islamic souls in this venture?

It staggers the mind.

We could just give these bozos the Darwin Award and be done with it .....and have a good chuckle about it except that they are dead serious about it. And, their inane fundamentalist mentality is permeating our society like disease and causing all sorts of discord and conflict everywhere (both in the Christian and Muslim worlds)

*sigh*

Makes you wonder....
