Avoid colon cleansing when an individual is having an ACTIVE episode of this condition....passing mucous, blood and pus. During this time diet, etc. needs to be very bland and simple...easily digested...too much fiber can then be irritating. Once an outbreak has subsided...colon cleansing can be inititiated...but proceed very slowly.
