i can't say that i know much about the relationships between establishment medicine and the alternative community. you must clarify what you mean by hate figure. my guess is that this person you speak of might be considered a sell out to the allopathic community. much like what you experience here on this site. with that said, it should not be suprising considering how the mainstream medical community has scoffed at alternative medicine for years(not including outright efforts to outlaw it.). at this point it must be difficult for most in the alternative community to accept the sincerity of outreach from the establishment medicine considering the numbers of people that have turned to alternative and the mega-bucks that represents. in other words, are doctors truley interested in learning from a bunch of hippies that they loath or are they just in it for the money? i'm just speculating here. draw your own conclusions.
