If you are recovering in 4 days consider yourself lucky I take about 7 to 9 days on average. It is something thats irritates me immensely. I eat enough protein, sleep plenty, take supplements, warm up and down, have high energy levels. It is a bit of a myth.
The only time I recovered in 3-4 days was when I tried a steroids cycle(not a good idea).
Something else that I have been finding strange is that in the last few years I have only trained about 4 months every year (either 4 on 8 off OR 2 on 4 off etc) because of heavy drinking and injurys. and every time I go back training from having time off I am just as strong? It is as if my body somehow goes into "stasis" and does not get weaker. But it works the other way I have found I do not get that much stronger the periods that I am training. The weights I use for training are: bench 110, deadlift 140, squat 120, curl 60 and soulder press 60(KGs) so I am no weakling and quite a big guy at around 19stone.
Anyone know why this could be?
