Maybe if I had some specifics I could comment on the religion aspect, however it is certainly possible that some people in the ACLU declined to get involved for some ulterior reason. People have their biases and regardless of how much they say they don't, those views do effect their decision making.

In regards to Rush, it is a no brainier. His civil and privacy rights were being violated by a Democratic DA in Florida (for political gain, no doubt). They wanted his private medical records so they could charge him with the crime of 'Doctor shopping' (a really chickenshit charge to hit anyone who has a drug problem with) ...and the ACLU filed suit in his behalf.

Rush may be a big blabbermouth (IMO), however his rights need to be protected just like everyone else. If the ACLU hadn't have stood up for him, I would have spoken up. I don't like what Limbaugh says, but I will defend to the end his right to say it...
