I have wanted to do a liver cleanse for a long time, but because of my constipation problem, I haven't. I read on this site that you have to have things 'moving' to do the liver cleanse or it could actually be harmful for all the stuff to release and have nowhere to go. That is why on one of my other posts I asked if there were some benficial cleansing herbs/supplements I could take instead. I just cannot seem to beat this constipation, no matter what I do, and laxatives don't even work anymore BECAUSE of the dependency and tolerance causeed by IF #1. Sometimes I fast just because I feel so awful, like right now, I haven't had a BM in 6 days despite a high water intake, fiber, healthy diet, exercise. I drink hot tea and a cup of warm prune juice every night. I mean nothing is helping. It is awful. If it weren't for colonics I resort to once a month just to get relief, I do not know what I would do! But I thank-you for your extensive information on the gallbladder removal and problems assosiated. I have long suspected this to be the cause of some of my problems. I will try the herbs you suggested and maybe I can get things moving so that one day I CAN do a full liver cleanse.
