I had the same concern recently. I took IF#1 for 3 years. I was constipated BEFORE I took it. I would only go 2-3 times a week. After 3 years I finally started understanding how to get away from needing to take it. I believe it HELPED my colon move on its own. I now can have a BM without it. Three years ago I could not. I just think IF#1 is great to get things going. But if you need it daily for a long period of time, you have another problem that needs to be addressed. The IF#1 is not a cure in itself,in my opinion. It is an aid to use while you get to the REAL problem behind the constipation. So there is obviously another problem going on that you need to get to the root of. No one should NEED IF#1 if they are healthy.
