The things you suggest are all good, but I would also get some kind of a poultice on it as well. What comes to mind right now is if you can get fresh plantain leaves (it should be growing all over most yards right now in many parts of the country), rinse them off, crush them well with a mortar and pestle or however you are able to crush them. If necessary you can add some slippery elm powder or possible marshmallow root to adjust the consistency of the poultice, but if you can get it to stay on with just the plantain it might be more effective.

Use a piece of saran wrap to hold the poultice in place. You can also used an unbleached cotton muslin cloth, but saran holds the moisture in better. An ace bandage can be wrapped loosly around the torso to hold it in place. Use some first aid tape if necessary. Change the poultice every few hours during the day time, don't let it dry out (but if the person is sleeping, don't wake them up to change it).

If you don't know what plantain looks like, make sure you ask someone that knows. It's very common and many people know what it looks like.

Can you tell us what medications this person is taking?

Oh and yes, garlic is very effective as Ali suggested, but is also a blood thinning agent and the person could already be taking blood thinners, so that needs to be taken into consideration. A few cloves a day should be ok in any case, also small amounts of supertonic.

Take superfood, since chloraphyl is essential to heal infection. Wheat Germ Oil is very good for the heart and blood vessels.

The Potassium broth is an excellent nutritional supplement and helps to restore electrolytes needed for proper heart rythm, possibly leached out of the body by drugs commonly used here.

How does this person feel about dietary/lifestyle changes at this point? Are they open and available to natural healing?
