I live in the US and never heard of flushing until it was recommended by my naturopath, who is Russian.
After that, I searched the internet and found Curezone.
I've read quite a bit about various alternative therapies, (and I live in San Francisco which is perhaps more open to alternative medicine than say, the midwest, where I grew up)- so I don't think flushing is very well known here in the States.
Just my perspective...
