I'm 40 years old 15 weeks pregnant. M/C in June of 2004. Today my Dr. talked about blood tests, 3D ultrasound, consulting with a perinatologist and possible amniocentesis. I chose this Dr. because I don't like the medical establishment. This is all medical establishment. I understand being prepared should we need a nicu, I understand educating ourselves on a special needs child. Intuitively, I get nothing is wrong. I'm ready to say for get it and do the home birth I've always wanted to do. I did the blood test today, the Quad marker test. I know ultrasound and have my doubts about it. If the risk for defects is so great why would God let us all get pregnant? I won't do anything different. I'm very confused. Anyone have opinions, either side please respond. I need to hear from both to be informed. This is the only site that understands where I'm comming from.......Carla
