the fishy smell is typical of gardnerella infections (bacterial vaginosis). Semen just makes it worse because it creates a basic environment in which anaerobic bacteria can thrive.
Avoid douches and try a replacement of the vaginal flora with lactobacillus (ask the doctor for it) .
I agree it might well be up to the pregnancy. There is no cause in allopathic med for BV, however, IMO ( I had some BV after delivery) it is related to hormone imbalance and/or stressful situations, poor diet, intestinal disorders.
