Rinna

That Bill was some guy - he has friends Everywhere! =) Although, I've always been rather partial to his pal, Dr Bob, myself.

Oh, yeah - I know those terms (and a few other choice ones not to be shared in 'polite company', lol)

Just over 8 years, here - but just have today (feel like I ducked that one, although those first two sponsors are hundreds of miles away!)

I had no problem admitting an I was alcoholic, the evidence was overwhelming. Now, admitting I had no control over it, THAT took a lot of work for this major league control freak! LOL But that "Group Of Drunks" acted as a HP for me until I realized I already had my own. Didn't understand the of "my understanding bit" at first, then *finally* it hit me and it was soo ruddy obvious. (Takes a bit to get things through this thick skull of mine, lol)

After 20 years of being out there, the last how many in abject misery, I went back to school (geographical change, even if it was only a few miles away.) Used to sit in this little nook outside during breaks and listen to a few folks talking about hanging out after meetings and stuff. They seemed so "free" and happy. Pulled one aside one day and asked her what these meetings were all about. Asked another to go with me for moral support to my first meeting, took myself from then on. Sat there meeting after meeting after meeting (drinking in the parking lot before hand) before finally realizing one day that I was seeing Hope around me, that Hope was there for me as well. Sat in meeting after meeting after that before being able to drop the bottle and pick up a chip. So, took working up my courage to find the hope, then took hope to help work through the rest. Think maybe the 2 work closely hand in hand. ;)

Of course, it was all just *completely* accidental that, on that large campus, they took their breaks in the same little area I did and sheer coincidence that it was precisely the exact method and message I needed. ;) Yup, pure serendipity. hehe

Pain brings you in, Hope makes you welcome, Work brings _you_ back. =)

Thanks for helping me remember - everything. =)
