This was somewhat of an afterthought after posting this, as all things do not always add up.
I used to be a "feminist" (labels) and consider I have not changed being a muslim in that, I choose to do what I believe helps me with a different understanding I did not have before.
You have valid points, and truths.
What I thought was most touching to me, was that it came not of a scholar or religious view at all, and although I am against the burka, I found solace in the writers attempt to forego all judgement of the practice.( and was able to interpret a womans view of covering, an honest devotion to God, not so much the man in her life. Not as a means of control but of her choice totally and her love of this choice. )
And I found an attraction to his conclusion at the end of the article that somewhere in the middle of these ways was the solution.
There should be no room for judgment on either side, as each has their own ability and plane, intention and we cannot see eachothers heart.
