Afterlife is a HUGE part of Islam.
Muslims believe Muhamed peace be upon him was the last of the series of Prophets, from the first man Adam, peace be upon him ( we regard him as a Prophet of God ) through Moses, Noah, Jonah, Abraham, Lut,To Jesus the son of Mary the Messiah ( peace be upon him), and then muhamed ( peace be uon him)was after Jesus ( upon whom be peace). We believe Jesus is actually raised up to the Almighty and will return to earth soon. And we beleive when every soul dies the Angel of death takes it- a detailed list of events unfold and ultimately the soul will get returned to the grave waiting for the Day of Judgment. At Judgment God will question every soul and then the good will be admitted to Paradise, the evil soul will be rejected to Hell. Now some will stay in Hell forever, some will eventually will be removed and granted Paradise.
