There has been a lot of misconception about holy war or Jihad. In Islam Jihad is only ever allowed when a foreign force tries to conquer a sovereign Muslim nation. Many Muslims believe this is what Israel and America are doing in Palestine and Iraq, hence they justify Jihad against those agressors. Jihad is meant to be a means of defending ones country and home land. It is believed that if a person is killed in a Jihad God will automatically send them to heaven, because they have died protecting something sacred (their mother land). Just my two cents...
