I can give you a cheap and highly effective treatment for cold-sores / herpes. It is coconut oil. Far more effective than any drug based treatment, with no side-effects. I challenge you to find a doctor who even knows about this treatment let alone prescribest it. Doctors only prescribe drugs, because the healtcare industry is about profits. Natural remedies don't make profits, ergo they are not deemed worthy of research, ergo they are "unscientific".
