We've tried a product called Pro Action - http://www.prostarnutrtion.com/24974/4011.htm . A thorough explaination of the product is at that site. Ingredients are primarily magnesium (800 mg)with citric acid (170 mg), an enzyme blend (100 mg), and milk thistle extract (50 mg).

Non toxic and not habit forming. Very comfortable - no cramping. Company recommends use as a cleanse, softener, and laxitive. Some studies and Dr. comments suggest many diseases start in the colon. Guess we should all cleanse regularly.

Wife is primary problem host. Always has regularity issues. Has been so endowed in spite of good diet, lots of wter, and exercise regimine.

Takes one or two capsules and viola, results usually within a few hours. Her worst case so far is about 24 hours from capsule consumption to movement.

I've been taking an enzyme for improved digestion along with some other supplements. Some for general health, some for carb blocking. The enzyme product may also move things along.
