For three months now I've produced light brown/pink spotting during ovulation. This has never happened to me before. I haven't made any real lifestyle changes recently, though I have been in the sun on a slightly more regular basis (almost every day). I also notice my periods afterward have been painful, but relatively short.

Anyone have experience with this? What causes it? is it a hormone imbalance (i'm hypothesizing too much progesterone, too little estrogen because of my bodily features)
