Some answers, maybe....
First of all, I'm not familiar with Steiner, but there are many approaches to homeschooling or unschooling. I personally plan to use a combination of different things. There are video curriculums that basically allow the child to teach himself and all you need to do is administer the tests and check the scores. This allows for a lot more free time than when you are the actual teacher the whole time.
Unschooling is very attractive to me and I have been doing that all along, even though up until this semester that just ended my child has always been in private, traditional school.
There is no question that there will be less time left to myself than I have had in the past, but the way I look at it, the years that I have available in order to have an impact on my child's life are just a limited window. Time will fly and she will be on her own. I can then begin to enjoy my free time again and get back into my art. For the time being, she is my most significant creation, and I will get as much as I put in. Personally, I find it a joy to offer her tools for learning. However, I do understand that for some parents the prospect of doing all this can be overwhelming.
If you need any help with curriculum or good websites on homeschooling let me know, I have spent a great deal of time looking into this stuff.
Where you live, do you have any groups that meet for playtime or enrichment classes? I know lots of parents that depend on this heavily and it has been a great blessing to them.
Be encouraged and please let us know of your decisions/progress :-)
