How about getting a second opinion? Is there another reputable acupuncturist in town? Another Chiropractor?

Acupuncture treatments should mostly be painless. If it hurts every time then something is not right. Be careful. I hope your practitioner knows what he's doing. One of my mother's friends in Hong Kong got an acupuncture treatment from a supposedly well-known practitioner, and ended up having nerve damage on her lower leg. (That was at least two years ago. Although she can walk, her leg feels numb to this day.)

Best wishes!
