Hi Moonie,
I don't think that the acupuncture made your condition worse, more than likely treament was ineffective and your condition is progressing. Why auricular treatment? For your condition I would use body acupuncture and herbal therapy I find it to be more potent and acurate unless you are the hands of a master auricular therapist, then a change of proticol ( points) used is in order. Yes, sometimes acupuncture hurts in a way that is beyond description. However most of the time it is indicative of good treatment depending on the sensation ususally stinging burning pain is caused from hitting a blood vessel or tendon. ususally a dull ache, heavy sensation, electrical sensation is what we call Qi arriving and that is good.
hope this helps
Alex
