I am not going to say that there is now risk. However, there has yet to be one documented scientific and sound research paper that shows any cause and effect relationship between adjustments and strokes. Nonetheless your symptoms are worrying you. First off, have you talked to your chiro? If you have never been adjusted and are 30-40 years old, you must understand that the nerves in the neck also control blood flow back into the head. Removal of any intereference (subluxation) in this area through an adjustment can cause a normalization of blood flow back into the head. This can create those symptoms you are experiencing. That is not a bad thing. Also, the neck contains many, many proprioceptors (joint movement receptors). Stimulation of these receptors (the adjustment) creates a large input of information into the cortex of the brain and brain stem. This also can cause some of the symptoms you are describing.
You should discuss these with your chiropractor. Know that some are more sensitive than others because A) everyone is different and B)depending on how much degeneration in your spine and your age can also play a factor.
