I am speaking from experience. I am Type 1 diabetic, so Sugar and I go together, which means yeast infections. It is easy to see when a women has a yeast infection because it shows up "down there". It is visible from the outside, but it is also on the inside.

In a man, it may not show up unless he has been with a woman who gives it to him and his body has a problem fighting it off. I gave it to my husband.

You really shouldn't be embarrassed to go to the doctor about it, because it happens to men. And, I have heard that prostrate (sp?) problems develop due to the yeast traveling up the penis and taking up residence in the prostrate causing it to swell and give you abnormal PSA results.
