Hello. My older sister was diagnosed with MS about ten years ago. I believe she was 40 at the time. I am a 37 yr. old woman, and I have had some mysterious symptoms over the past several years, but I just chalked them up to stress. Now, they are starting to happen more and more often, but nothing is serious enough to make a trip to the doctor. For example, I get numbness and tingling in parts of my body-- a lot. Like, right now, my lips and the lower part of my face are fairly numb. There are two toes on my right foot that are always numb. I also don't have a lot of sensation in my upper thighs. But, I DID have two cesarean sections (in 1999 and 2001).

When I sleep at night, my limbs will "fall asleep"-- and sometimes I am awakened because my whole head has that "asleep," tingling sensation. It happens to just my ears, too, sometimes. Even my buttocks fall asleep sometimes! These things happen during the day as well. If I'm on the phone, for example, my hand falls asleep, even though I am not grasping it too hard. These seem to be such silly little things to be concerned about-- yet, if there is something, I hope to take some precautions now, you know.

Also, when I am talking, I often replace a word with another word. Like, I'll intend to say, "Honey, the market has spaghetti sauce on sale," but what will come out is something like, "Honey, the market has playground sauce on sale"!!! This happens nearly every day. I just thought it was fatigue, you know, being a stay-at-home-mother of pre-schoolers. But lately, as it occurs more often, I'm not so sure.

I also have mild edema in my legs. It began during my pregnancies, and just never went away all the way...

What do you think? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
