Inlondon, What you need to remember here is that all aspects of/in a dream reflect parts of yourself. You are living in your sisters house, on the top floor apt/flat. I believe this would indicate a "conscious" state, not subconscious. So(in my opinion) the setting is saying that you have consciously adopted or chosen some beliefs/ideas from your sister. These ideas/beliefs are ones that you live with, on a day to day basis.
A window is normally an opening to let in light, a fresh breeze,
or provide a "view." This window is being used as a doorway, not it's normal function. The fact that it's at the top of the house
seems to emphasize this. Also your actions of trying to throw the dog back out. To me this fairly shouts of something being "out of place."
The dog is large, white, and neglected (matted fur). What this dog represents, only you truly know. Most people think of dogs as being loyal, faithful friends who love unconditionally. If you've ever been attacked by a dog however, your opinion would be quite different. (So how do you "view" dogs in general?)Also there is the view that you give in the dream, horror at your own actions,
and pity for the animal. You realise that as a result of YOUR actions the dog has become fearful.
My conclusion is that in adopting your sisters ideas/beliefs you have discarded a large part of yourself. This part of yourself wants back in, but is fearful because of the treatment it has experienced. At the same time you see this part of yourself as unacceptable, unwanted, perhaps out of place.
This is only my opinion, YOU are the one who has the answers.
Blessings, Marj
