but I feel like I would be perfectly fine just knowing that I and another are into each other...

That is very satisfying on certain levels but on others it would seem to be in conflict I mean are you talking one person or all relations w friends/lovers, etc... If the world operated as you I would be fine with that and being alone because I would never truly be alone. That sounds like mumbo jumbo I know.
