While true that they are equally effective there is a very important difference between the deluxe versions and the rest. The basic and folding are made with particle board that is laminated. Over time this lamination has a tendancy to crack. I have known many people over the years that ended up replacing their basic model because the particle board under the lamination absorbed some of the evacuated liquid and started smelling bad.

So if you want to have it around for a long time, pay the extra bit for the deluxe model.
